Floorball World Championships

The Floorball World Championships are a biannual event organized by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). They were preceded by the European Championships which were held twice in 1994 and 1995.

The men's world floorball championships take place in every even year while the women's championships take place in every odd year. The first men's world championships were held in 1996. The first women's world championships were played a year later in 1997.

The under-19 world championships for men and women are also held bi-annually. Men's under-19 squads compete in the same year the women do and the women's under-19 squads compete in the same year men do. The men's under-19 world floorball championship has been played since 2001 and the women's under-19 world floorball championship since 2004.

In Division B, the winner was Australia, who has now earned a qualifying spot for the 2011 world championships in Switzerland and is the only non-European nation to do so. Latvia, Russia and Norway are the other qualified nations for 2011.
